Conversation in an online course – is this even possible?
The main focus of this course is to enjoy the beauty of the English language, have fun, talk away and learn from mistakes.
Based on different subjects according to the choice of the teacher (we are not using a book) and extended by the interests and wishes of the participants we are going to have conversations in the whole group as well as in smaller ones during the 90 minutes conference time of each session. Ideas, input and active use of the language are always aimed for and initiated by the teacher but only possible with active participants.
With the help of different authentic materials (BBC, The Guardian, The British Council and others) the basis of communication is being created. Working on the revision and extension of vocabulary. pronunciation, listening, style and expression but foremost speaking skills is what this course is designed for and offers. Grammatical issues will not be taught upfront and isolated but rather dealt with when the need arises.
Individual working time (45 minutes after the conference) with a bunch of tasks offered by the teacher gives participants the time to dive into the subjects ever deeper but always with the teacher in the background complete the weekly meetings.
