Audio Recording at Home

This is a course for those with little or no prior knowledge about the world of recording and audio, but who wish to start recording high quality projects from the comfort of their homes without investing in expensive new equipment. 

Would you like to know what equipment you need to begin your project? Are you interested in music and audio as a creative hobby? Have you always wanted to record a podcast or audiobook? Or would you like to build confidence using audio technology and learn more about how to get the best out of the recording equipment you have? Then this course is for you.

Lessons will be conducted at the classroom and in a mix of English and German. Therefore you would need some prior English language skills (A2/B1) and a laptop computer, tablet or smartphone. Throughout this 8 week programme you will learn both in groups and alone both the theory and practical application of sound recording, microphones, digital formats, software and hardware as well as modules in sound acoustics, overdubbing, voice recording and script and text reading. 

Finally you will learn how to finish your projects to a high level using your own personal home recording setup. You will understand the basics of mixing, eq'ing, editing and mastering audio recordings and, by the end of the course, be confident recording alone, or together with others from the comfort of your own home.

A minimum level of A2/B1 in English is required to participate in the course, and it is assumed that you can speak English.

Der Unterricht findet in der Volkshochschule statt und für die Teilnahme am Kurs sind mindestens Englischkenntnisse auf Niveau A2/B1 erforderlich.
